This panel will touch upon how legacy media outlets are coming up with AI rules, and what writers can do to protect their work. In addition, the panelists will discuss larger questions about how AI has changed the industry: Is it possible to integrate these tools in a workflow without plagiarizing other writers' work? Is there a double standard of media outlets banning freelancers from using these tools, while editors use in-house AI tools? What does it mean to have original prose in a time when LLMs can mimic style?

 -Open Campus is hiring a remote Associate Editor based in the US to partner with local newsrooms to produce in-depth and investigative coverage of community colleges. They will coach reporters in partner newsrooms, guide projects, perform big-picture edits, and develop resources to improve community college coverage. Candidates should have a track record of editing impactful stories and experience untangling complex policies. The salary range is $70,000 to $80,000. Apply by October 25.

 -Perplexity is hiring a Hybrid Writer based in NYC to lead content strategy and copywriting. They will create exceptional and captivating content across consumer and enterprise use cases, including email copy, social media posts, in-product copy, support pages, FAQs, video scripts, case studies, white papers, outbound emails, onboarding guides, and blog posts. Candidates should have four or more years of content writing and strategy experience, preferably at a consumer technology brand. The salary range is $150,000 to $190,000.

 -NBC Sports is hiring a Freelance Fantasy Content Creator based in the US to provide original digital content on news and events for multiple sports, including the NBA, MLB, and NFL. They will write original posts on key news, produce fantasy analysis on breaking news and game results, and provide analysis for video content. Candidates should have at least one year of sports writing experience, familiarity with fantasy sports, and the ability to work on nights and weekends. The rate is $200 per day.
